The ultrasonic impact gun is an industrial equipment based on ultrasonic vibration energy. It achieves functions such as material surface modification and stress elimination through high-frequency mechanical vibration. It is widely used in mechanical manufacturing, welding technology, aerospace and other fields.
The core principle of an ultrasonic impact gun is to convert electrical energy into high-frequency mechanical vibration energy. This energy is then applied to the material surface through an impact head, achieving energy transfer and optimizing material properties. Its operating process can be divided into three key steps:
1. Energy Conversion
•Ultrasonic generator: Converts industrial frequency AC power (220V or 380V) into a high-frequency electrical signal (typically 15kHz-40kHz), providing the device with energy.
•Transducer: Utilizing the piezoelectric or magnetostrictive effects, this high-frequency electrical signal is converted into high-frequency mechanical vibration (longitudinal vibration), completing the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy.
•Amplifier: Amplifies the vibration output by the transducer, increasing its amplitude (typically to 0.05mm-0.2mm) and enhancing the impact energy.
2. Impact Effect
•Vibration energy is transmitted to the workpiece surface through the impact tip (made of carbide or tool steel), generating high-frequency, small-amplitude mechanical impact.
•During the impact process, the material surface undergoes plastic deformation and the lattice structure rearranges, thereby changing the material's stress state and mechanical properties.
3. Stress Control Mechanism
•Relieves residual stress: High-frequency impact induces plastic flow in the material surface, offsetting tensile stresses generated during welding, casting, and other processes, converting them into compressive stresses.
•Enhances surface properties: The impact action refines the material's surface grain size, improving surface hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue strength.
1. Welding Process Optimization
•Relieve Welding Residual Stress: Used to relieve stress in weld horns and weld seams, reducing the risk of weld deformation and cracking. This treatment is particularly suitable for post-weld treatment of pressure vessels and pipelines.
•Improve Weld Strength: Through surface strengthening, the fatigue strength of welded joints can be increased by 30%-100%, extending the service life of the workpiece.
2. Mechanical Manufacturing and Repair
•Surface Strengthening: Surface impact treatment is performed on vulnerable parts such as gears, shafts, and bearings to improve wear resistance and fatigue resistance.
•Repair of Old Parts: Used to repair wear on mechanical parts, filling microcracks and dents through plastic deformation and restoring part precision.
3. Aerospace and Rail Transit
•Reinforcement of Key Components: Stress control is performed on high-strength components such as aircraft landing gear, engine blades, and high-speed rail track welds to ensure safety under extreme operating conditions.
•Lightweight Material Processing: Suitable for surface treatment of lightweight alloys such as aluminum alloys and titanium alloys, balancing weight reduction and strength requirements.
4. Petrochemical and Power Equipment
•Pipeline and Container Maintenance: Impact treatment is performed on weld areas of oil pipelines and chemical storage tanks to prevent corrosion, cracking, and leakage.
•Wind Turbine Equipment Reinforcement: Used to relieve stress at wind tower flange welds and blade connections, improving fatigue resistance and service life of wind turbine equipment.
5. Precision Manufacturing
•Electronic Component Processing: Micro-impact treatment is performed on precision molds and electronic packaging to eliminate processing stress and improve dimensional stability.
•Medical Device Reinforcement: Used for surface modification of stainless steel medical devices to improve finish and corrosion resistance.
